We come in silence and in song,
we come to listen too.
We meet all ages and all types,
and God in me and you.
We come together in the bond
of peace and unity,
and strive and struggle with the Word
that speaks eternity.
We come with hope, to face our fears,
to find ourselves again,
and seek the courage to confront
love’s labour and its pain.
We come and find our hopes fulfilled,
our strength has been renewed;
our trust confirmed and courage caught,
the way of Christ pursued.
Written as a prayer of approach, and inspired by the hymn by Brian Wren, ‘I come with joy’.
Suggested tune : Stracathro CM or Dove of Peace if the last line of each verse is repeated.
